Our Vision & Mission

Our vision is to achieve empowerment and development through capacity development and and harnessing the inherent talents and abilities of women.

ASAWOD’S Mission is to provide multi-sectoral interventions and equip under-served rural and peri-urban women and girls the with knowledge and skills needed to excel as leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs, and to earn a “livelihood with dignity.

We work towards empowering women through Capacity Building, Rural Community Revitalization, Information Dissemination and Advocacy

We believe that when women are socially and economically empowered, they become catalysts of change – not just in their own lives, but also in their families and communities.

Our Inspiration

Our works and interventions are premised on the background that harmful sociocultural norms and practices promote inequality and limit women’s access to both local and international growth and development opportunities that can address the various issues that have long kept them and their communities under-developed and poverty-stricken.

These problems including including Poverty, Skills Deficiency, Rights Violation, Violence Against Women, Gender-Based Violence, Climate Change and many more problems can be addressed through increased education and enlightenment in addition to strategic, results-focused advocacy and effective monitoring of government policies and programmes.

Enhancing the socio-economic capacities of women and encouraging girls and women to harness their abilities and take more active roles in decision making and policy formation will strengthen their voice and bargaining powers, ensuring that matters concerning them are taken seriously, thereby reducing inequality.
